Welcome to Little Stars Child Care at Beresford
Welcome to Little Stars Beresford, our 3rd Nursery setting here in Staffordshire. Little Stars Beresford opened its doors in April 2024.
We offer care from Birth to the age of 5 in our nursery rooms, in addition to this we offer wraparound care for Beresford Memorial First School, offering breakfast club and after school club for children aged up to 11. Furthermore, we offer a school holiday club for children aged from 5 to 11 years.
Here at Beresford, we open our doors from 7:30am Monday to Friday offering a continental breakfast as a rolling snack till 9.30am. A hot two course lunch, heathy snacks and a high tea are also served throughout the day. We close every day at 6.00pm.
We pride ourselves in providing the best quality care and support for all our children and their families. Our main focus is to create a warm, welcoming, and homely environment for all our families and staff. We believe that every child is an individual, and take great pride in ensuring that we provide a secure environment for all children from the beginning of their time here with us. We have a relaxed settling in period and offer a range of inductions over a three week period.
These settling in periods continue as the children transition through the rooms during there time with us. Relationships and communication with parents/carers are more important than ever at this early stage of development and we encourage this involvement via our key person system. We provide a consistent and reassuring person for each child to help them feel more comfortable.
We are well known for taking the children’s on little adventures, such as walks out in the local community, visits to the local library and even singing events at local care homes. We also have weekly extra curriculum activities catered by local companies, these all contribute to the learning and development for all the children. Our Nursery chef cooks hot meals on site here daily for all the children to enjoy, We encourage the children to participate in preparing meals when possible. We provide food to suit the needs of all children, whether its during the weaning process or possible intolerances or allergies.
Our Beresford setting has three rooms; all rooms offer a nurturing environment with the well-being and development of each and every individual child at the forefront. Our dedicated baby room “Twinkle stars” ensures a calm and homely feel, to make you at ease when leaving your little one with our baby room team. Our toddler room “Rising stars” is a fun-loving room full of energy, lots of dancing and messy activities to help your child to grow and finally our preschool room “shooting stars” provides a stimulating environment so your child can learn and develop in all areas ready for the next step of their journey

Our Baby Room - 'Where our journey begins'
Our baby room here at Beresford embodies a sense of calm and nurture, recently been refurbished to give a breathtaking, fresh and inviting feel for our babies, parents and careers. In our baby room you will find many different activities that help your baby to grow and develop during these earliest stages. We encourage lots of messy play opportunities and lots of singing and dancing. We have our sensory area to help your babies to go into a relaxing mindset at sleep time with the sounds of white noise. Our staffs focus and aim is to give a safe and enriching environment that provides all babies with every opportunity available.
Our dedicated baby room team are attentive to all the babies needs, while ensuring a calm and tranquil atmosphere indoors there’s also amble outdoor opportunities. We have an enclosed outdoor area providing babies with a chance to enhance their physical development. We benefit hugely from having outdoor free flow, allowing the babies to go in and out as they please including sleeping opportunities outside.
Staff in our baby room also take pride in taking the babies on walks into the local community/town, going to soft play areas and libraries. This gives the babies as many experiences from the youngest age as possible.
Our baby room team follow our settings strong ethos and objectives and deliver high quality care that enables the baby room to shine. Every baby and family that comes through our doors, to ensure parents trust and have confidence that they have made the right choice in choosing our baby room as a safe place to care for their child
We offer spaces to babies from the age of Birth – 18 months however this is not a set age range as we know each child is an individual and develops at their own pace, we also acknowledge the fact of taking the parents opinions into consideration when the baby gets to the possible age of moving on through into our Rising Stars room.

Our Toddler Room - 'Where we build our foundations'
Our toddler room here at Beresford is full of fun and laughter, our large spacious room gives your little one’s opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities from water play, sand play, painting activities, dancing and lots more. Within our toddler room we promote our nurturing environment leading on from the baby room to give the toddlers a sense of calmness. Our toddler room thrives on interaction with enthusiastic storytelling and small group activities in an inviting and safe environment.
Our fun-loving toddler room have highly qualified staff who are fully dedicated to care for your little ones to the best of their abilities. Their main focus is to create the welcoming atmosphere for all.
Our toddler room is enhanced daily through a fantastic free flow from system, that allows both indoor and outdoor play. This allows our toddlers the opportunity to make their own choices in play.
Our large playground provides a wide range of activities to help with your child’s development. If the weather is nice you will find us at dinning outside for our daily snacks.
Been out and about in the local community is something we pride ourselves in, our toddler room team enjoy taking the toddlers on walks out in the local area, where they engage with the local community, enjoy trips to the library, the park and any other learning opportunities we can access.
We offer spaces to toddlers from the age of 18 months to 2-2.5 years. When moving from our Rising Stars (toddler room) to our Shooting Stars (Pre-school) we begin a transition process. This is all depending on your child’s individual needs and we also take into account your opinions and points of view on your child’s development and needs before they take their next steps into our Shooting Stars room.

Our Pre-School Room - ‘Where we enhance our potential’
Our Pre-school room at Beresford promotes the sense of learning through child choice and adult lead play. Shooting Stars is where we start to implement further learning skills through a range of activities from counting, recognising numbers/letters and most importantly lifelong skills that will continue to develop and be enhanced. Shooting Stars offer opportunities for the children to engage in a wide variety of experiences including going to forestry sessions, going on nature walks and exploring the world around them. Our Pre-school room benefits hugely from a free-flow indoor/outdoor experience, giving your child opportunities to spend as much time outside as inside, making the most of the fresh air in all weathers. Be it raining, snowing, windy or sunny we make it an opportunity for the children to develop.
Our Shooting Stars team aims to give your little ones the best start in life, while having the most fun filled days and experiences. Our team of fabulous practitioners offer a sense of calmness, mixed with their bubbly characters in order to create a room that gleams with fun and energy. Communication with parents/carers is vital at these early stages and engagements with the parents and children is very close to our hearts here at Little Stars. The staff in our preschool room take every opportunity they can to go on walks, whether it be close to the nursery or trips into the local town. They make every outing enjoyable for all, this includes bus rides with the children to our sister setting at Cheddleton or to our allotment where we do lots of planting with the children, again enhancing the children’s development.
In our Shooting stars room, we offer spaces for children aged 2/2.5 to 3/ 4, although we do understand that every child is an individual and so take parents opinions and the child’s development into account before determining the room transition. When you let us know that your child is moving onto school, we begin to introduce school readiness, through enhancing activities and encouraging more independence.
Little Stars Beresford Before & After School Club
Little Stars offers a quality and enlightening wrap around club for all children that attend Beresford Memorial First School.
Our day starts at 7.30am where we offer the children breakfast on arrival, which is a choice of cereal or toast. Children can happily bring in their own preferred healthy breakfast if required. During the morning we have relaxed activities, such as reading, drawing and free choice play. At 8.40 the children are encouraged to tidy up and collect together their belongings ready to go to school. The Little Stars Team then walk the children across to school and pass on any home to school messages to the school teaching staff. Our breakfast club ends at 8.45 when the school day begins.
At the end of the school day the Teaching Staff return all the after school children back to the care of Little Stars at 3.20,this is when our after school club begins. During after school club the children are encouraged to partake in homework and reading sessions while having dedicate school Teaching assistants to hand for support. This is a perfect opportunity for your children to complete homework, to save an evening rush at home. Our after school club encourages both indoor and outdoor play, arts and craft sessions and access to a range of self choice activities. We provide a high tea at 4.30, which ranges from oatcakes to sandwiches. We close at 6pm alongside our nursery settings.
Little Stars Holiday Clubs here at Beresford
Little Stars delivers a well-planned and motivating holiday club for children aged from 4 years (reception) to 10 years (year 4). Our dedicated staffing team go above and beyond to ensure stimulating activities, outings and much more. We are open during school holidays from 7.30am till 6pm. During this time the children are offered a hot two course meal and plenty of healthily enriching snacks. We take in to consideration the children’s ideas and implement them into our holiday club days. Our holiday club days are very flexible and we offer full days, school days and half days, to ensure we cater for all families needs.

Level 3 Nursery ManagerHI I’m Rachel, I am the full time Manager here at the Cheddleton setting, I am a mum of 3 beautiful children, 2 girls and a little boy who are all at school. I have a Level 3 CACHE diploma in Childcare & Education and safeguarding lead level 3.
I have 12 years of childcare experience looking after children of various ages right up until high school age. I started my employment here at Little Stars Childcare Cheddleton in March(2023), I initially started in the toddler room enjoying my time with the 18 months – 3 year olds, getting to know all of the children along with their families and staffing team, during this time I had the opportunity to spend time in all of the rooms getting to know all the children and staff throughout the Cheddleton setting.
Being a very family orientated person, my spare time is mainly spent with my little family, we have days out now and again but also enjoy quiet days at home just as much. In my recreational time I like to go horse riding, going on walks with our boisterous doggy companion and meals with family and friends.

SENCO & Deputy Manager
Hi my name is Sam, I am the lead SENCo that covers all settings within Little Stars Childcare and also a senior member of the team. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Early years and qualified level 3 Senco.
I have always wanted to be an Early years SENCo as I am very passinate about helping and supporting children and families, I have had personal experiences of understanding how hard and frustrating as a parent it can be when you have a concern regarding your child, Caregiver knows best!
I am very passionate about my roles and will go above and beyond to support children and families; Every child should have the best start therefore every child within our settings will have equal opportunities.
It is important to me to see the children at Little Stars with big smiles, laughing, making new friendships, getting messy, exploring and growing into confident and independent children.
