Business Owner, Area Manager & Lead Safeguarding Officer
Hello, I am Laura Hanson and I lead the Safeguarding team here at Little Stars Childcare alongside Sam. I have over 20 years’ experience in childcare, a degree level 6 in Education and lead safeguarding level 3 (for more information about me please see the meet managers section).
We are committed to provide a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment at Little Stars Childcare. We are very passionate about our roles and will go above and beyond to support children and families; Every child should have the best start therefore every child within our settings will have equal opportunities.
Children with special educational needs are supported through a child-centred approach; all children are given equal opportunities throughout our nursery ‘every child is different and this is beautiful’
Our approach includes early identification, support plans that are planned around your child’s needs, regular reviews and close partnerships with families and professionals

Sam Prescott
SENCO & Deputy Manager
Hello, I am Sam Prescott and I am the Lead Senco and I also work in partnership with Laura Hanson as safeguarding Lead. I am qualified in level 3 SENCo and level 3 childcare and education.
Our priority is to ensure children, and their families are protected, respected and feel listened to. Our safeguarding polices and procedures follow the latest statutory guidance. We work closely with parents and external agencies to ensure the appropriate support is provided.
I have always wanted to be an Early years SENCo as I am very passionate about helping and supporting children and families, I have had personal experiences of understanding how hard and frustrating as a parent it can be when you have a concern regarding your child, Caregiver knows best!
